» » Shoot of Vishal's Naan Sigappu Manithan gets underway Shoot of Vishal's Naan Sigappu Manithan gets underway November 30th, 2013 | | Tags: Naan, Vishal The shooting of Vishal's upcoming film Naan Sigappu Manithan commenced in the city with the customary 'pooja'. Vishal, buoyed by the success of his Pandianadu which released in theatres on Deepavali, has repeated Lakshmi Menon as the heroine again in Naan Sigappu Manithan. Pandianadu was also the first film for Vishal as he made the film under his home banner Vishal Film Factory which was launched recently. Vishal's earlier films were produced by his brother Vikram Krishna's G.K. Film Corporation. Whatever happened between the brothers hasn't come to light but Vishal went ahead and launched his own production house. Naan Sigappu Manithan, title of superstar Rajinikanth's action-packed super-duper hit film of the mid-eighties, is Vishal's second film as producer. Thiru, who had directed Vishal in a few films including Samar, would be directing Naan Sigappu Manithan too.

The film is expected to be a romantic comedy and renowned director A.R.Murugdoss is writing the script. With Sivakarthikeyan well known for his wits playing the lead and Murugdoss whose adeptness in lacing comedy and romance in serious scripts has been proved in the films like Ghajini and Thuppaki, one can expect Maan Karathe as a full fledged entertainer. The team shot a few scenes in Karnataka before shifting to the Pondichery. Sivakarthikeyan is said to have done a stylish change over for the film directed by Thirukumaran an erstwhile associate of Murugdoss. Another young and happening talent associated with the film will be Music Director Anirudh.

Actress Anushka Shetty and her Singam co-star Suriya have collaborated with TeachAIDS campaign, which aims to spread awareness about the disease among children. *

Titled 'Saraswathi Sabatham', starring many leading actors of that age, it was one of the most successful movies in 1966. But what has led director Chandru to name his Jai-Nivedha Thomas starrer, 'Naveena Saraswathi Sabatham'? The director says it is the very blockbuster of 1966 which introduces a new dimension into the story, justifying the name. A group of four men set out to Bangkok for a bachelor's party and land themselves in serious trouble. It is a scene that they recollect from the yesteryear epic movie which helps them sort out the mess and get out of it. So is it anything like 'Saraswathi Sabatham' original?
